eBOLT – Electronic Bolt

Kaltech Electronic Bolt

The Electronic Bolt is a wear indicating liner bolt which communicates directly through a wireless communication system. This Electronic Bolt provides live remote monitoring of the thickness of the liners in SAG, AG, rod, ball mills, feed chutes and similar applications. By extending the bolt heads and inserting the Sentinel technology into the standard steel liner bolts, the extended head of the Electronic Bolt wears down as the liner wears, and electronically reports up to 16 predetermined wear events in each Electronic Bolt while the mill is still running.

REAL TIME WEAR REPORTING

The Electronic Bolt reveals virtual real time liner wear information from within a mill without the need to pull the feed chute, eliminating the need to isolate any plant or equipment, and to have people enter the mill. Access to this function presents new opportunities for improving operational metrics, reducing running costs, and provides a detailed empirical basis for liner life prediction and maintenance planning. By utilizing the correct array of Electronic Bolts spread out over the known high-wear areas on the shell and feed end liners, these bolts capture the broad and singular wear events and report them directly to the user via interactive software platform.
