DBL Nut

DBL Nut

This Double Lock Nut was designed and engineered to provide the essential features found in separate nut styles but in one unique and efficient nut.

  • Free spinning low coefficient design provides the end user with ease and efficiency during installation.
  • Full engagement of the bottom nut base to the component surface, preventing potential for loosening. Standard bottom lock nut material can become lodged between the nut base and component surface and be a contributing factor in the bolt losing the desired tension. If that material is not properly extracted during tightening, it may allow other forces to act on the bolt shank, which may lead to losing the desired tension.
  • The center locking material acts as a dampener when vibration is present, holding the two nuts and bolt in union. The locking material is compressed within the threads during tightening of the second nut down onto the first nut. It also keeps the locking material separate and out and away from any of the critical mating surfaces.
  • Securing the nut in place is achieved by tightening the first nut in place with the desired tension, then tightening the second nut down onto the first and compressing the locking material in between the threads and two nuts, creating a jam nut effect preventing backing off of the nut assembly.
  • This nut in conjunction with the SPR Bolt can improve safety and efficiency during mill liner changes by reducing debris clutter as the stud, nut and components separate from the internal head in one piece and reduces the dependency on bolt removal equipment during the bolt removal process.
